Bart has retired from the racing world and is looking for a new gig as loyal companion. He’s a great mix of enthusiasm and chill. He’s had no trouble adapting to city life. Loud garbage trucks? No problem. Forklifts across the street? Whatever. Construction next door? Meh, he’ll sleep through that. He’s happy to do all his business on leash, so he doesn’t need a yard. He loves to be out sniffing the world, and will be very happy when his rest period from his neuter is up so he can have proper long walks. Not a lot seems to rattle him. The only thing he’s been scared of so far is small children running and yelling. They’re terrifying. Teens and tweens—fine. He’s been friendly with but not fascinated by the other dogs we’ve met. He’s done fantastic so far as an only dog. We’ve been doing a lot of alone training, and he’s done very little vocalizing when he’s alone or when we come back. He’s quick to settle in his crate and is comfortable there. He’s happy to just watch the household goings on from his crate when the humans are home.Going up stairs is still strange and baffling, but he did a whole three stairs on his own today! Once he’s cleared for real exercise, we think he’ll make quick progress on that. Overall, Bart is a gem, and will be a fabulous companion for his lucky adopter. He’ll be available for approved adopter visits starting 04/19/19.Bart (racing name BF M Bart) 040719 Bart (racing name BF M Bart) 040719 Bart (racing name BF M Bart) 040719 Bart (racing name BF M Bart)
