Brink, racing name Cobi’s Brink, is a black boy who ran 87 races. Brink’s sweet face and wonderful disposition makes it almost impossible not to fall in love with him. He is a friendly, happy, sociable boy who gives smiles and tail wags when told how handsome he is. He gets along wonderfully with the resident greyhound. It only took a week in the foster home for him to feel comfortable enough to start roaching.

Brink is a multifaceted guy – he has a wide range of interests and skills including (but not limited to): sleeping; eating; expanding his human fan club (adults and kids); playing with squeaky toys and the cuddlepillar; leaning against his humans; barking/whining at the resident cat; getting pets, ear scritches and hugs; checking out what’s on the kitchen counters; observing activities happening in the neighborhood; and picking up/responding to messages left by other dogs in the community.

Brink has pretty good leash manners with some weaving from side to side. He gets very excited when he sees small dogs pulling a bit on the leash, and is improving with the more dogs he sees. He would probably do better in a home with larger dogs. He loves meeting new people, both adults and children. Brink has spent time with two 6-year old kids and he loved them, wanting to go wherever they went. He can be somewhat forward when meeting new people because he’s excited, but does not jump on them. Brink is not bothered by the new sounds of a suburban neighborhood, taking it all in with a calm attitude.

Brink is generally a low energy, calm dog but can be vocal when left alone. He is now sleeping through the night, waking up around 7am. He is doing much better each day learning how to be by himself. Some of his vocalization in the foster home has been due to the distraction of the resident cat. He will do best in a home that does not have cats.

Brink’s birthday wish (he turned 4 in March) was to retire from racing and find his forever family. He is well on his way to getting his wish! Could your home be the one Brink is looking for?? He will be available for approved adopter visits starting 04/10/2021.
