Crete is at an increased risk of developing Progressive Retinal Atrophy (PRA) causing progressive vision loss resulting in blindness.  PRA is a genetically inherited condition that is not painful and gradually progresses.

Crete, racing name JA’s Crete, is an affectionate boy who is looking to please. He’s a fast learner, having already mastered a short flight of stairs and the “down command” in his first week with his foster family. He LOVES walks, and will walk until you drop. Crete will do best with an active adopter or family who will happily give him all the exercise he deserves. He is good on the leash, and confident with noises, people, and other neighborhood dogs. At home, his sweetness comes out, and he craves attention and a chance to show off the greyhound lean. He also enjoys the company of the resident greyhound in his foster home.

Crete is happiest (and quietest) when others are around, so joining a family with another dog, or plenty of company will be best for him. He needs a patient adopter and a single family home due to potential for making noise.

He’ll be available for approved adopter visits starting 09/19/20.
