Crocket (racing name Crest Crocket) is a handsome, 4-year-old, 70 lb boy. He is always excited for a walk, be it a long sniffari in the park or a quick trip around the block. He has nice leash manners but he can be reactive towards people and other dogs. The reactivity can be managed by keeping a safe distance from his triggers or by distracting him with high-value treats. Crocket is extremely food motivated, so he is almost always more interested in a good treat than in anything else around him.

Crocket is a playful guy who loves his stuffies. He is affectionate with people he knows and trusts and he chatters away when his neck is scratched. He enjoys being petted and brushed while he is standing up, but when he is lying down, he prefers that no one enter his personal space.

Crocket is great with stairs (indoor, outdoor, carpeted, concrete, wooden, closed-back, open-back…no problem!), knows several commands including down, sit, paw (shake), and touch (hand target), and is quite other than the occasional bark or whine to remind you it’s almost time for his meal or walk.

Crocket’s ideal forever home would include:
•    no children or other pets
•    a calm home environment without a lot of visitors
•    an area for walking that doesn’t have heavy pedestrian traffic (car traffic is OK)
•    an adopter who is willing to accommodate his quirks and partner with a vet and a positive-reinforcement trainer to address his reactivity

Crockett is looking forward to a forever home.  Might that home be with you?  Apply today to find out.
