Dallas is a sweet, red fawn girl with gorgeous kohl-rimmed eyes and a touch of brindle on her tail. She is super-friendly and loves to meet new people and other dogs. She enjoys going for walks but also knows how to just chill out, as evidenced by the amount of time she spent sprawled out on a blanket basking in the attention at a recent Greyhound Welfare open
house event.

Dallas has impeccable manners, both indoors and out. On walks, she will stay right by your side on a loose leash. She is efficient about “taking care of business” and has no issues with pottying on lead. Indoors, she would never even dream of counter surfing, stealing objects that don’t belong to her, or getting into any sort of mischief at all.

Dallas obviously did her homework while in the 2nd Chance at Life prison dog program, because she responds well to many commands, including “sit”, “down” “come” and ‘kennel”, and she is even starting to sit without being asked in anticipation of a meal or a treat. The stairs took a little while to master, but she’s now going up and down almost as smoothly as the resident greyhounds in her foster home.

Dallas loves getting her teeth brushed and she doesn’t mind sitting still for a pedicure. She is food motivated and enjoys food-based toys like Kongs. She’s not quite sure what to do with stuffies and squeaky toys yet, but after carefully observing her foster sister play with them for a few weeks; Dallas has started to give them a try, too. Her absolute favorite activity, though, is curling up on a dog bed for a nap with her foster family close by.

You don’t have to go all the way to Texas to visit Dallas – just apply today for your chance to meet this terrific dog.
