Cassie is coming out of her shell!   She is petite, sweet, and smart.   She has settled quite nicely into the house.  She is doing our deck stairs up and down.  She has found stuffed toys and thoroughly enjoys gumming them and tossing them around.  She is quiet, eats well, and enjoys gentle face massages.  Cassie attended the Greyhound Welfare Annual Picnic and enjoyed all the people and greyhounds.  She was calm and liked receiving gentle pets.  Cassie is ready for her forever home.  Might that home be yours?

Cassie, racing name AMF Weird Idea, is a 4-year-old who retired after 102 races. This small sweet girl is newly off the track and is quite shy right now, but she’s beginning to learn about the wide world around her and will become more confident as time goes on. She meets people hesitantly and politely and prefers a gentle quiet approach. Currently, she is a little worried by cars and loud noises, and some trees make her jump a little when walking, but we’re working with her to teach her that it’s just different and not scary!!! 🙂  She walks well on a leash without pulling, until she sees/hears something scary and even then she doesn’t pull hard – she just tries to get away from the “danger zone”.

She seems happy to be around the resident greyhounds, and loves being close to her foster mom for lots of pets and ear scritches, etc.  Her beautiful black fur feels like satin and she hasn’t shown any signs of aggression or resource guarding at all.
Check back for more information as she settles into her foster home. She is available for approved adopter visits.
