Clyde, racing name DD Nefarious, is a beautiful two-year-old boy who decided retirement suited him best after just 4 races. Good life plan! He is a very sweet and gentle boy who enjoys pets from his foster humans and tossing around a toy or two. He has velvety soft fur and the sweetest envelope ears. Clyde has been a bit cautious as he enters retirement. He occasionally gets a little startled on walks around the big city (when tripping over a plastic cup, or seeing pigeons for the first time, for example) but he always recovers quickly and we go on our way. He is a little shy but after a few days he wags his tail when his foster humans approach for pets and is now comfortable poking us with his paw to ask for more ear scratches, please. He loves to get belly rubs and is affectionate.
Clyde is good with humans and other dogs, both big and small. He passes by other dogs without a second glance, he’s been far more interested in watching the traffic go by. He’s also a gentleman on the leash, he stays close and will sometimes weave but is very responsive to corrections. He likes to take his time on walks and hardly ever pulls.
Clyde was destined for an early retirement, as he seems to have a very low prey drive. He has seen squirrels several times but never reacts, I suspect he doesn’t see the point in chasing things. Clyde occasionally whines but does well when corrected. He doesn’t seem to mind being left alone and he sleeps through the night soundly.
