In the Iron Man movie, Tony Stark says “Sometimes you’ve gotta run before you can walk.” Foster greyhound Iron Man (racing name T’s Iron Man) also subscribes to that philosophy. He ran 134 races at the Naples-Ft. Myers, Southland, and Wheeling Downs tracks, but now that he’s retired, long walks in the park with plenty of sniffs are more his speed. This handsome and curious four-year-old has nice leash manners and greets every person he sees with enthusiastic tail wags.
Iron Man is always ready for some ear rubs or neck scratches from a willing human. He gets along with the other greyhounds in his foster home, but he gets quite excited when he sees smaller dogs outside. He is learning to control his excitement by looking at foster mom for a treat instead, but he would probably do best in a home without small pets. Iron Man goes up and down stairs with no issue and isn’t bothered by tile or hardwood floors. He has adjusted well to the routines in his foster home: he sleeps quietly through the night, waking up only when the rest of the household starts moving around, he settles nicely on a dog bed during his out-of-crate time, and he has no problem being left home alone for a few hours.
If you could use a superhero in your life, apply today for the chance to meet Iron Man. He is available now for visits with approved adopters. Please check back for updates from his foster home.
