Ken – Adoption Pending

Ken, racing name Clonkeen Top, is a handsome 4 year old Irish boy with a non-stop wagging tail. He’s always happy with whatever is going on at the moment, and if there’s nothing going on, he’ll take a nice nap. He’s curious and likes to explore everything with a sniff, but then settles down.

While he hasn’t gone for the toy basket yet, he has tried to initiate play with the resident hound, and also tries to cuddle with her (much to her chagrin!). While a playful doggie friend (with no space issues) would be great, Ken would likely do well as an only dog, too. He is quiet in the crate whether we are home or not, so he would be great in an apartment or townhouse situation.

Ken loves walks and has pretty good leash manners (though he tends to weave a bit still).  He ignores small barking dogs, but he does get excited about squirrels and rabbits (especially rabbits!).

Ken is not super good motivated, but he really loves cheese. He is a bit finicky with other treats, though he’s getting better about expanding his palate.

Ken is doing great with stairs so far and conquered the stairs on the local nature trail without batting an eye. He is being fostered in a Cape Cod-style home, so the interior stairs are quite steep. He learned going up pretty quickly, though going down is a still a little scary. Thanks to his curious nature, he’s willing to try!
