Jenny, racing name Nationwide Jenny, is a stunning brindle 4-year-old lady who retired after 17 races. She recently moved from Ireland and is looking for her forever family.
Jenny is a sweet, loving, curious and alert girl; enjoys meeting new people; a big leaner; goes on at least one toy tossing episode a day. She likes getting butt scratches and resting her head in a lap for head rubs (one of her ambitions is to be a lap dog). She is reserved/cautious in new settings but warms up fairly quickly. She LOVES her person, keeping close to them.
Jenny seems to be a pretty smart gal. She picked up the down command very fast, and training for staying off the couch. She’s very attentive to verbal commands. Sensitive to loud/raised voices and gets scared but rebounds quickly with reassurance that everything is okay. She is doing well on stair training and has no problem navigating hardwood and laminate floors. She enjoys car rides, jumping in and settling down quickly.
Jenny’s loves her walks and has good leash manners; she pays attention to gentle leash corrections. She does react to wildlife such as squirrels, at times pulling on the leash to go check them out. She is typically on alert during the late night walks looking for fox and deer she’s previously seen and remembers. She is very friendly on walks wanting to meet new people. She also has done well around kids who are calm and give gentle pets. She may be startled or scared by a new or loud noise on walks, but again she recovers quickly with reassurance.
She sleeps through the night without any issues. She will whine softly at night if there is a change in the home situation, such as if a new dog is in the house and gets to go upstairs for the night while she’s downstairs. She adapts fairly quickly to this.
Jenny’s energy level is medium. She likes to counter surf if given the opportunity, drink coffee/tea out of mugs on side tables, pick up and chew on plastic bags. She does not have any resource guarding issues with food, toys, or beds.
